ELECTRICAL TESTING / STATUTORY COMPLIANCE
The testing of electrical installations and equipment is important when it comes to safety of persons and property. Due to electrical faults, many homes and workplaces pose a risk from electrocution or fire. It is not just a safety issue but it is also the law. Regulations state that all employers and employees are legally responsible to ensure that all electrical installations and equipment used in the workplace are safe.
The following legislation is relevant to electrical systems:-

Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992
Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998
The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999
This legislation puts the duty of care upon both the employer and the employee to ensure the safety of all persons and property. JVI offers the testing of electrical installations and equipment and offers expert advice when it comes to the testing of appliances and wiring.

DESIGN & CONSULTANCY
We are able to design bespoke systems to meet your requirements and conform with the appropriate industry standards and legislation.
FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS
JVI designs and installs fire alarm systems for commercial and domestic properties.
Systems are designed and installed to BS5839:2002 as appropriate and generally as called for after an audit or a fire risk assessment as required by the Fire Precautions Act.
EMERGENCY LIGHTING
When referring to the provision of Escape Lighting or Emergency Lighting BS5266 requires that when the supply to all or part of the normal lighting in occupied premises fails, escape lighting is required to fulfil the following function:
1. To indicate escape routes clearly.
2. To provide illumination along escape routes to allow safe movement towards and through the exits provided.
3. To ensure that fire alarm call points and fire fighting equipment provided along escape routes can be readily located.
